True Botanicals Is Having Its Annual Anniversary Sale

Posted by Aldo Pusey on Friday, March 1, 2024

When I first began my career in the beauty industry, clean beauty products were still an anomaly. The options were few and far between and selecting one usually meant sacrificing efficacy, potency, or variety for the sake of a more conscious, better-for-your-health alternative. In 2022, however, we are fortunate to have such a robust array of options; a new class of clean beauty brands, like True Botanicals, prove to be so powerful and beloved that their safe status is a peripheral benefit.

I first noticed True Botanicals because the algorithm (rightly) assumed I'd be interested in Brooke Shields' and Laura Dern's skincare recommendations. The brand also boasts Lizzo and Olivia Wilde as fans; the latter of which favors a $78 eye cream. Though the price tags associated with their favorite products can be inhibitive to trying them for yourself, True Botanicals is having its biggest sale of the year — its anniversary sale, which lasts through June 26.

For four days, shoppers will receive 20 percent off all orders under $250, 25 percent off orders from $250 to $400, and 30 percent off orders of more than $400. Literally every product, kit, and bundle is included in the sale, and because that's 60-plus products to sift through, I've done the hard part for you and curated a selection of four celebrity picks, customer-loved products, and personal favorites that deserve the limelight.

Not only did Olivia Wilde say that True Botanicals' Radiance Eye Cream gets rid of her Wednesday Addams-level dark circles, but Brooke Shields is also a fan — along with the over 200 shoppers who gave it a five-star rating on the brand's site.

One reviewer in their 60s wrote that the caffeine-, licorice-, and turmeric-packed formula "immediately started to stop the puffiness" and faded "dark circles" that were so severe, their eyes almost looked bruised.

The aptly named resurrection plant meanwhile nourishes and plumps the skin, which diminishes the appearance of fine lines. One obsessed reviewer wrote, "[I] went one month without [the Resurrection Radiance Eye Cream] and noticed [my] wrinkles [were] more visible. I reordered and the fragile skin around my eyes is plump and smooth again."

Renew Pure Radiance Oil

If you walk away from this sale with just one product, let it be the Renew Pure Radiance Oil that counts Wilde, Brooke Shields, Laura Dern, and Lizzo as fans. In a video for Harper's Bazaar, Shields even described it as her "desert island" beauty product thanks to how multiuse it is (she applies it on her face, brows, lips, and hair).

The formula is packed to the brim with anti-aging ingredients including 14(!) seed oils, plus algae extract, passion fruit and papaya oils, and chia seeds. As dermatologist Dr. Joshua Zeichner previously told InStyle, algae is rich in astaxanthin, which is like a souped-up, more powerful vitamin C — it protects skin from sun damage, reduces inflammation, and improves wrinkles. The fruit oils give your skin a natural glow and improve its overall texture and appearance. Lastly, chia seeds keep your skin barrier healthy, which makes everything else in your skincare routine more efficient.

The quick-absorbing oil lives up to the laundry list of touted benefits, not only according to celebs, but also over 2,600 five-star reviewers. As one shopper in their 60s surmised, "[The Renew Pure Radiance Oil makes] my skin so soft… It appears to soften wrinkles and make my skin glow."

Renew Chebula Active Serum

A lot of science goes into True Botanicals products and the Chebula range is perhaps the best example of this. The star ingredient is chebula, which has clinically been shown to combat five signs of aging by reducing wrinkles, evening out the skin tone, smoothing its texture, firming, and revealing a brighter complexion. Aiding the chebula is hyaluronic acid, which creates a barrier that locks moisture into the skin.

Although you will find a few products with chebula in them, according to True Botanicals, the extraction method needed to harness all of its anti-aging properties is relatively new. True Botanicals' chebula range appears to be the only one where the plant stars as the hero active ingredient.

And according to over 2,600 shoppers, the Chebula Active Serum is nothing less than astounding. One reviewer wrote, "[The] Chebula Serum has made a huge difference in my complexion, giving me a lovely glow. My 70-year-old skin looks and feels like it did in childhood."

Renew Nutrient Mist

A good face mist is one of the most underrated products you can have in your skincare arsenal. Keeping your skin hydrated throughout the day is the key to healthy skin, a plump complexion, and makeup that looks good and flake-free.

And out of the hundreds, maybe even thousands of face mists out there, this one personally takes the cake. Two spritzes during a long flight make me feel like I am counteracting the stale, recycled air on the plane. Spraying myself midday in the summer feels like the facial-equivalent of running through a sprinkler, and it keeps my makeup looking natural and breathable. That long list of benefits can be attributed to algae extract, which (like in the Radiance Oil) protects skin from environmental aggressors, kombucha that detoxifies and restores balance, and a green and white tea base that delivers a boost of soothing antioxidants. One of the 400 five-star reviewers wrote, "I've seen dramatic results since using [the Renew Nutrient Mist], and so have my friends and family because they comment on my skin."
