There was a more severe rise in serial killings in California than in any other state in the United States of America. California serial killing seriously went on the rise somewhere in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s and most people wondered why.

Most of these killers were thought to be mentally deranged but the majority of them knew whatever they were doing. Here is a list of California serial killers who have caused a lot of harm and deaths in California, United States of America.

Timothy Joseph McGhee

Timothy Joseph McGhee has the record as one of California’s most notorious serial killers to ever lived. He was being referred to as Monster by the police. He had professed his hate for the police and found delight in killing in rap lyrics.

Timothy is a member of the Toonerville Gang who was sentenced to death in January 2009 for the killing of two rival gang members and the female partner of a third.

He was convicted of the murder in the shooting of three people between 1997 and 2001. Timothy Joseph McGhee was also found guilty of the attempted murder of 4 additional people including 2 LAPD officers.

Marcus Wesson became very famous after his crime and murderous activities were exposed to the public. The prolific serial killer, Marcus Wesson was found guilty of killing 9 of his children in Fresno, California, the United States of America in the year 2005.

Angelo Anthony Buono Jr

Angelo Anthony Buono Jr made an appearance in court in the year 1984. He is one of the individuals known as Hillside Stranglers. Angelo Anthony Buono and Kenneth Bianchi, his cousin were convicted of raping, kidnapping, torturing and murdering young girls and women from later 1977 to early 1978.

Wayne Adam Ford really shocked officials when he went to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department on 3rd November, 1998 and confessed to the murdering of four women. He stopped by the department with one of the victim’s breasts in his pocket. He confessed that he slew the women and dumped their body parts across the state.

Vincent Brothers, the Bakersfield educator was convicted in the killing of his three children, mother-in-law and his wife in the year 2007.

Cary Stayner has a record of murdering three women who stayed at a motel where he used to work as a handyman outside Yosemite National Park. The famous serial killer, Cary Stayner was sentenced to death. Additionally, he was convicted of beheading a nature guide.

Chester Turner

Chester Turner raped and strangled most of his victims between 1987 and 1998. Most of his victims hailed from South Los Angeles, California. It is recorded that most of his victims were crack cocaine addicts. Chester strangled 8 of them with his bare hands.

Four of his victims were killed within 6 blocks of his home. The lasted two victims were reported to have died on skid row after the murderer had moved downtown. According to sources, the serial killer, Chester Turner is currently on death row in California.

William Bonin

William Bonin also known widely as The Freeway Killer was an unemployed Downey truck driver who openly confessed to the killing of some 21 individuals. He was convicted of 14 murders and was executed in the year 1996.

Charles Ng

Charles Ng was accused with codefendant Leonard Lake of the killing of 11 people in a sex-slavery and kidnapping ring in Northern California, United States of America in the year 1984 and 1985 respectively.
