Ryan Priest Accident

Update: NASCAR Off Track has given an update saying that Ryan Priest has left the medical center inside the racing area. This comes after a serious crash involving multiple cars during the NASCAR Cup Series race called the Coke Zero Sugar 400. The unfortunate incident took place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Daytona International Speedway.

Ryan Priest Accident:

On August 26, 2023, during a NASCAR race in Daytona Beach, Florida, there was a big accident involving three drivers: Ryan Blaney, Ty Gibbs, and Christopher Bell. These drivers were participating in the NASCAR Cup Series race. Ryan Blaney hit the wall really hard, and this caused a chain reaction involving several other cars. The TV broadcast showed how strong the crash was from inside one of the cars.

This incident happened at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 race, which was taking place at the Daytona International Speedway on a Saturday night. The race was still going on when this crash occurred. The race organizers explained that as a group of racers was getting close to the main straight part of the track after the second part of the race, Christopher Bell’s car touched Ty Gibbs’ car. Because of this, Gibbs lost control of his car and ended up crashing into Ryan Blaney’s car.

In the area where the crash happened, other drivers like Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Alex Bowman, and A.J. Allmendinger were also involved. They had to quickly try to steer their cars away to avoid the crash, but a total of 16 cars, including those driven by Cindric, Dillon, Hamlin, Buescher, Burton, Kyle Larson, and Riley Herbst, were still caught up in the accident.

After this crash, the people in charge of the race decided to stop the race temporarily so that the track could be cleaned up. They did this by showing a red flag. Before the crash, the race had completed 96 laps out of the total 160 laps. Thankfully, no one else got hurt in this accident.
