David Bowie's unexpected death comes just two days after he released his 25th and final album Blackstar and celebrated his 69th birthday. As the world mourns the loss of one of music's most influential stars, here at HELLO! we can't help but recall when the Under Pressure singer exclusively introduced his daughter Alexandria Zahra Jones together with his beautiful model wife Iman in 2000.Their daughter was just seventeen days old when the couple invited HELLO! magazine into their New York apartment overlooking Central Park for what the star said would be her "first and last interview".

David Bowie and his wife Iman introduced their daughter Alexandria Zahra in a world exclusive in 2000

David, who was then aged 53 and had been married to Iman for eight years, revealed that he was already naming the couple's future children the very first time they met. "My attraction to her was immediate and all-encompassing. I couldn't sleep for the excitement of our first date," he told HELLO!. "That she would be my wife, in my head, was a done deal. I'd never gone after anything in my life with such passion in all my life. I just knew she was the one."

The pair's 1992 wedding was covered exclusively by HELLO!

Alexandria was the second child for both parents – David's son film director Duncan Jones is from his first marriage to Angela Bowie, while Iman also has a daughter called Zulekha Haywood from her previous relationship to basketball player, Spencer Haywood. The arrival of their first child together was, said Iman, "the happiest of times in my life. "About the effect their new bundle of joy was already having, Iman added: "We've always been very close, but if it's possible we've been drawn even closer. There's a joy or a contentment that's almost palpable to both of us. Overnight, our lives have been enriched beyond belief."
